Australian Off Road Campers is an Australian manufacturing success story. From humble beginnings ten years ago, Steve Budden began fabricating his own off road camping trailers. Steve for many years use to hire off road camper trailers and after they were continually returned beaten and broken, the perfectionist in him set about creating a trailer that wouldn’t be beaten by the Aussie Outback.

Steve set about engineering and designing a true off road camper that was capable of handling all the 4x4 rigors from Cape to Cape and the toughest terrain in-between without breaking. From his shed out the back of his hinterland home on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Steve commenced building his first off road camper trailer. That was ten years ago now and how far things have come, from a two person operation in a shed, to a 2,000 square metre manufacturing factory employing 60 full time staff members.

Last month Steve and the team at Australian Off Road Campers were awarded the coveted prize of Off Road Camper of the Year 2011 by Camper Trailer Australian magazine. The competition success is a reflection of all the hard work and engineering skill that has gone into perfecting Australian Off Road Campers over the last ten years.

Central to Australian Off Road Campers reputation for quality is Steve’s commitment to employing only the highest trained tradesmen, to construct, fit and finish each camper to a quality and standard that is second to none.
