Our TestimonialsTHE QUANTUM SHIFTS THE WAY YOU THINK ABOUT CAMPING!Steve and Rhonda -What can we say! We love the look, the style, the design, the layout, the décor….and …. it sure turns heads!
Living in the “Q2”, as we affectionately call her, for the past 11 months gives us a pretty unique perspective! We love the internal layout with the oh-so-comfortable Queen size bed, the big picture windows and the sense of space and light that pervades. The big surprise was how valuable the inside toilet and shower proved to be, especially for night-time! When it’s freezing outside, how lovely it is to snuggle up inside with a drink, eat dinner in comfort and –dare I say-watch TV -on the rare occasions we’re in range.
The wonderful external kitchen makes cooking and entertaining great fun, where, as head chef, I’m always part of the action. Best of all we have ever-changing views from our classy ‘home’. With the awning, we were pleasantly surprised at the ease of set-up and flexibility of the design depending on the weather and our location. The “Q2” provides us with a great level of comfort and a few luxuries too.
Of course we know and trust the off-road suspension having clocked up 120,000km with a previous Australian Off-Road Camper. Now with the “Q2” working towards the next 100,000km criss-crossing the country on the most interesting dirt roads, we continue to attest to its absolute durability and reliability. We go where we want to.
You have hit the mark with this sophisticated, classy vehicle and we couldn’t be happier! Thanks Guys! SYD & MAZ REILLY OCT 2009
Steve and Rhonda Budden Australian Off Road Campers We would not have envisaged that after visiting your AORC showroom at Caloundra to consider purchasing an Odyssey camper trailer, that we’d come back a short time later to place an order for the top-line Quantum ZS and that only a month after taking delivery of the Quantum in late April 2009, we’d head off in our Prado, Quantum in tow, to cross this great country of ours – through Western Qld, to Winton, Boulia, and via the Plenty “Highway” to Alice Springs.
Having by this time developed a taste for wide open spaces, flies, dust and corrugations, we continued north-west, to tackle the Tanami, branching off to check out Wolfe Creek Crater (second worst road of our trip – some would have preferred to have taken their chances with Mick from the movie of the same name rather than tackle that road again!), and on to meet friends at Halls Creek, before continuing on to visit the Bungles. Further westward yet we travelled, on bitumen now, to Broome, our turnaround point. Finally eastward bound now, the Quantum pushed the Prado across the Gibb River Road to Drysdale River Station.
Discretion being the better part of valour, and amid reports of many broken and destroyed camper trailers and 4wd’s, we parked the Quantum at Drysdale, and ventured north in the Prado for a couple of nights tenting on the Mitchell Plateau. Spectacular country, but even more spectacular Aboriginal art. These were the worst roads we encountered, and as tough as the Quantum is built, we’re glad we didn’t have the courage to subject it to these rigours. We were grateful, however, to come back to Drysdale, and our Quantum, for the luxury of the shower, and the bed!
Continuing east, Prado and Quantum enjoyed a dunking in the Pentecost River below the majestic Cockburn Range, and on to El Questro for a few days R&R. Then blessedly, bitumen again! Kununurra, Wyndham, the NT‘s Top End, Darwin, Litchfield, and Kakadu. And eventually, we moseyed on home to SE Qld.
Our Prado and Quantum proved a well matched, solid and reliable combination. Excellent and easy towing, with very reasonable fuel consumption, particularly when compared to what others were telling us they were achieving with their rigs. The Quantum proved a very comfortable home away from home for two. Sufficient space to move around inside, with excellent storage capacity for all our stuff. The external kitchen was the envy of many other travellers.
Drawbacks ? Really only one. The Quantum attracts a lot of attention, and it wasn’t uncommon to be disturbed at all hours by folk wanting to check it out (at least we were encouraged to keep everything tidy and the bed made!), or to return to camp to find some strange bloke crawling around underneath checking out the suspension! If it’s privacy you want, don’t get a Quantum.
Problems? One puncture, and a failed wheel bearing (fortunately another bearing set is supplied with the Quantum). No big deal.
Our travels so far have most definitely proved the capabilities and toughness of AORC’s Quantum. We’re keen for, and planning more adventures with ours. Ron and Deb, Delaneys Creek, Queensland Off Gibb River Road, Western Australia

To: Australian Off Road Campers When we set out on our trip with the Quantum all our travelling companions were sceptical and offered to travel behind us to pick up the pieces!! As we all had previously travelled with camper vans (as we like to get off the beaten track) and didn’t believe that such a vehicle as the Quantum would survive the outback. However after travelling several thousands of kilometres, most on dirt, (see below) we were the ones picking up their pieces!!!!
The Quantum was fantastic – comfortable with all the mod cons which made the trip most enjoyable. The kitchen worked very well and the lovely hot shower at the end of the day with no set up hassle was great. We were very happy campers and could relax knowing set up was quick and easy and we often relaxed sipping a champagne watching the other campers struggling with their tents etc.
Many thanks to you Steve and Rhonda for your great service and back-up with the purchase of our Quantum. We loved the Quantum and are looking forward to our next adventure somewhere in the great outdoors.
Shane & Lynn – South Australia Route travelled: Coober Pedy, Dalhousie Springs, Mt Dare via the Finke Track, Chambers Pillar, Alice Springs, Plenty Highway, Boulia, Diamantina, Old Cork, Winton, Longreach, Barcoo River, Canarvon Gorge, Texas, Copeton Dam, Moree and home to Port Augusta
Thank you for providing us with excellent after sales service since our purchase of an Odyssey ZR in 2005. Your company and staff have demonstrated integrity and commitment to both the customer and the product. Australian Off Road’s quality assurance is to be commended. We continue to enjoy our Odyssey and all of its luxuries, and don’t mind boasting about owning one whenever we get the opportunity! Yours sincerely Peter & Michele, Brisbane

We've just got home to Melbourne with our new van and wanted to say how much we love the van already. Got plenty of looks and questions and so far have passed on a couple of brochures. Came home via New England Highway and the van towed a treat. Overnights were so easy, lunch stops great and so much space in a smaller van. Thanks for the informative handover Marty, it was great. Thanks to all the crew that built and prepared our van. Vince & Sue, Melbourne
This 3 week trip took us West to Ceduna then north via a sandy 4wd track called “Googs Track” to the trans-continental railway line. Then east to Roxby Downs and Andamooka. We then travelled by remote station tracks around the top of Lake Frome and into the Flinders Ranges via Arkaroola, Blinman and Wilpena pound. Roads consisted of main roads, formed dirt roads, station tracks of very mixed quality, 4WD public access routes and deep 4WD sandy tracks. We were faced with deep sand, rocky roads, steep and tight Flinders Ranges creeks. We bushed camped for the whole trip using national parks, stations (with permission), Arkaroola, gorges and public access routes. We did not use any 240 volt power for the whole trip. The trailer did not miss a beat and handled the conditions with ease. The shower is a real treat – nothing quite like having a hot shower with nothing but the emus to worry about!! Thanks and keep up the good work Chris and Diona, Freeling, South Australia
After receiving delivery of our Odyssey Export Signature we took off on a two week "shake down" to see just what it was capable of. We were in no way disappointed. From the corrugations and muddy bog holes on the Holland Track to the beach and sand dunes east of Esperance our Odyssey followed faithfully wherever the Cruiser went. Morning and afternoon teas on the edge of the track were a breeze with the pull out kitchen. Setting up at the end of the day was effortless and to have an already made-up bed with innerspring mattress.... Bliss! The amount of available storage was something that really sold us on this model - even carrying gear for a family of four and full annex canvas there was stacks of room (and this is from someone who has been accused of taking the kitchen sink camping - which hey, now I can!). The more we used it the more we appreciated just how much thought has gone into the design of this camper to make it practical and comfortable. We are now planning a tour of the Kimberley, confident that we will get anywhere we so desire with our rig intact, be able to camp bush for over a week and with (almost!) all the comforts of home. G’day all at AORC, Just letting you know that we made it home from Caloundra safely. Following handover we set up camp at Dicky Beach and enjoyed that afternoon discovering the Odyssey. That night the heavens opened and it proceeded to rain and blow for the next two days of our stay at the beach. The Ezy awning proved its strength by withstanding the tempest and the inside of the tent section remained dry. The performance of the Odyssey was outstanding. The Odyssey is a pleasure to tow, tracking beautifully behind the cruiser for over 3,000 kms on the trip home. It is simple and easy to set up and a breeze to pack up, there is more than enough storage space and a level of comfort that we had not experienced prior to our purchase. The shower unit was used at Lorella to the envy of the other campers. We are now looking forward to our trips to Kakadu and Litchfield in the coming weeks with great excitement. Please pass on our congratulations to your entire team who produced this great camper. Regards, John and Judy Miles NT
G’day Steve, Well we have just completed another great 6000Km with the XR – ( Bowen, Mt Isa, Alice via Plenty Hwy, Uluru, Chambers Pillar, Dalhousie, Simpson via French- Rig-WAA-Knolls-French-QAA, Birdsville, Longreach,Bowen) with the camper again excelling herself for reliability & agility ( yes it literally jumped over those sand hills) & only missed scaling Big Red by 10m – finally achieved by winching entire rig. You build a very tough vehicle which is a pleasure to tow & live in.John Coventry

Ideal conditions, ideal position and an ideal camper. Thanks for a well designed and well built unit. While we cannot always have ideal conditions and positions, it’s good to know that we always will have the ideal camper.

If you want to go "bush" and play with the big boys you must give the Quantum super camper a very hard look. We just completed our first trip in our Quantum ZS and when the owners of Bushtrakker vans stand back in awe, you know you are on a good thing. Coming in at less than half the weight of the big off road caravans ,the Quantum super camper can take you "bush" while being tough, reliable and comfortable. The Quantum is fitted with a internal shower/toilet, vanity unit and a hot water system which also provides pressurized water to the external kitchen, a real hit with the ladies in the camp. For the blokes, there is also a external shower to clean off all that mud and sand after a hard days fishing in that remote location you have always dreamt about. At the end of the day there is a queen size bed fitted in the Quantum for the comfort of both. With the full annex set up, there is room a plenty. The annex, with fly screens fitted ,allows you a retreat from those pesty sand flies and mosquitos while still being able to enjoy the outdoors and cook your meal outside the camper. Our camp left our fellow campers asking the question "Why wasn't the Quantum on the market when we bought our Bushtrakker?”. We always had the jar of cookies and the coffee handy, as we often had curious onlookers who wanted a look at our camp and what a great way to start up a conversation and make new friends. We made lots of new friends on our first trip and are planning many more. Just hope Steve and Rhonda can keep up the supply of pamphlets for the Quantum. QUANTUM AS EMERGENCY RELIEF - FROM CYCLONE ULUI
Hi all at AORC,
We are OK. Power and phone (emails) are back on today and we suffered no structural damage, got out of it fairly lightly.
The Quantum was a great asset after the cyclone. We were able to cook, keep food and drink cool and have a hot shower and have water. Our home was popular with the neighbours.
It was a little frightening Saturday night, total darkness, very windy (122k/hr), noisy and you could hear trees snapping - nobody got any sleep. Things are starting to get back to normal, but some people still have no power, water or phone. The council are up and about clearing downed trees etc. Some areas had in excess of 500mls of rain - we had just on 200mls at Grasstree Beach.

Lynda and I had a wonderful trip and the Odyssey performed beyond expectations. Its 6 years old now and it is still dust and water proof as well as bullet proof. We took the Oddy on the roughest of rough roads with endless corrugations. Some of the corrugations were 100mm deep. We towed the oddy up to the Mitchell Plateau, along the Gibb River Road and up to Cape Leveque. We then headed home via the Plenty Highway, Boulia, Bedourie and then to Nappa Merrie before heading home via Innaminka. The Nappa Merrie road was unbelievably rough. The Toyota Bullbar (sovereign) cracked and started to fall to pieces. A chunk of the alloy bull bar gave way which was holding the spot light. We were so impressed with our oddy - nothing fell off, nothing broke no problems whatsoever. Bruce Nicholson & Lynda Bailey, South Australia
