In the last two years Australian Off Road Campers has seen exponential growth, from 40 employers and half a dozen small factories. To now having 60+ staff members in one large centralised 2000sq metre factory. We are excited to show you around our factory and showroom and introduce to key members of our staff.
Staff
Australian Off Road Campers has come a long way in just a little over 11 years. From humble beginnings in Steve & Rhonda's garage up in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland, to employing 65 full time staff and producing Australia's leading range of Off Road campers and caravans.
AORC's Management Team:
Steve & Rhonda Budden
Steve and Rhonda Budden are the owners and Managing Directors of Australian Off Road Campers. The business has grown from their garage in the Sunshine Coast Hinterlands, to today being one of Australia’s premier manufacturers of Off Road Campers and Caravans.
Steve is a fitter and turner by trade and is never one to stop, always on the move or with an exciting project under his wing. Steve’s passion to produce Australia’s leading Off Road products is reflected through the true quality of the product and the reputation and level of prestige Australian Off Road Campers products are regarded within the wider Australian Off Road market.
Rhonda shares Steve’s passion for his products and enjoys as much as everyone, exploring Australia’s wide and barren landscapes. Rhonda has for the last ten years looked after the Sales and Marketing at Australian Off Road Campers and is now starting to enjoy a more leisurely lifestyle, where she can concentrate on her passion for photography.
Both Steve and Rhonda continue to have an avid stake in the business and Steve is presently working on the design for Australian Off Road Campers latest product, which will see the business launch in to a new segment of the caravan market.
General Manager: Marty Bell
Marty moved to Australia a little over three years ago, starting on the factory floor, Marty quickly proved he had wealth of experience in the industry. Receiving a number of promotions at Australian Off Road Campers early on, he has for the past two years been the General Manager at the company. Marty moved from New Zealand, where he had previously successfully run his own mobile home and caravan manufacturing business.
Marty looks after all facets of the business, ensuring that every team is working to maximize their production efficiencies and meet the required deadlines. Marty is one of the great innovators around Australian Off Road Campers and progressively works to implement much needed change and modernization around the business.
Project Manager: John Mutton
John handles a multitude of tasks and projects at Australian Off Road Campers. A fitter and turner by trade, John served with the Australian Forces in Iraq, returning in 2006 to run his own business here on the Sunshine Coast. John started with Australian Off Road Campers in 2008 and has worked through a number of different positions, to today being charged with the responsibility of looking after all projects and that are outside of the factories domain. Recently, John has acquired engineering certification for all Australian Off Road Campers products, ensuring the company remains at the absolute forefront of industry standards.
Production Manager: Kevin Lantsbery
Kevin is the Production Manager at Australian Off Road Campers and is the head foreman, overseeing the entire fabrication process. He has been with the company now since 2009 and has a long history in factory management. 37 years’ experience as a Vehicle Body Maker means that he is one of Australian Off Road Campers most valuable and qualified employees. Kev has a great attitude towards work and is one of the company’s highest regarded managers.
Fabrication Manager: Stewart Evans
Stewart has recently started with Australian Off Road Campers as the Welding Foreman. With a long history in sheet-metal, welding and engineering, Stewart’s wealth of technical expertise saw a natural progression into this managerial position. Previously, he has worked on technical projects with British Army and also in aeronautical engineering.
Canvas Manager: Phil Holah
Phil has a long history in upholstery and made the progression to Australian Off Road Campers Canvas Manager 6 months ago. Australian Off Road Campers use only Australian made canvas on all of the products and Phil and his team are always designing new and innovative way in which to use the canvas. Phil and his team recently designed a new awning system, for Australian Off Road Campers award winning Odyssey, which is believed to revolutionize the industry, allowing for a complete camper set up in a matter of 3 minutes.
Purchasing Manager: Joe Dalli
Joe has been with Australian Off Road Campers for a number of years, originally heading the parts departments, where his background as a fitter and turner allowed him to excel in the fabrication of parts and components. Joe’s attention to detail has seen him move into a newly created position as the Parts Manager. Joe oversees all orders, deliveries and logistics of key deliverables and inventory.
Service Manager: Scott Montague
Tasked with one of the most demanding jobs at Australian Off Road Campers, Scott is the companies dedicated Service Manager. Scott has a three member team, which look after all in house servicing of our customers campers, as well as interstate campers. A major point of difference in the Australian Off Road Campers service offering is the level of after purchase service. Scott prides himself on his level of communication and customer quality and this was reflected greatly in a recent customer survey, which identified Australian Off Road Campers level of service as second to none in the industry.
Marketing Manager: Ben Alexander
Ben returned to the Sunshine Coast in the middle of 2010 after almost a decade away from his home town. Leaving the Sunshine Coast after school to study, Ben then followed career pursuits in Sydney. Working as a Sales and Marketing Executive with one of Australia’s leading adventure tourism operators.
Ben, works in close proximity with Australian Off Road Campers Sales Team ensuring sales are on track and targets are attained, as well as driving all of the traditional and digital marketing functions at Australian Off Road Campers.
Sales Manager: Clay Sherriff
Like so many others at AORC Clay has come from across the ditch, to join his Kiwi companions as the Sales Manager at AORC. Clay and his wife moved to the Sunshine Coast with their two year old son Ozzy. Recently adding a real Aussie to their family, with the birth of Beau on Australian soil in early October. Clay’s professional background is in graphic design and sales, although prior to moving to Australia he was a jetboat driver for Shotover Jet in Queenstown.
Taking on the responsibilities of the Sales department, Clay has proven himself quickly as an inspiring member of the AORC team. Always friendly and diligent and with an exceptional level of detail and customer focus, Clay’s progression within the Sales team has been more than noticeable within just a short couple of months.
Work Experience & School Based Trainees Programme:
Australian Off Road Campers proudly supports the youth of the Sunshine Coast by actively participating in Work Place Traineeships and Work Experience initiatives. In our factory we have range of specialty trades from coach building, fitter and turners, canvas makers, welders and detailers and take pride in having the ability to provide enthusiastic students with the chance to further their knowledge and skills.
